Training Support

Inspire the troops!

Training-support-4

Effective training requires a big commitment of time and effort for everyone involved, and you need great support materials to make sure the content stays with people long after the training has finished.

One of our key skills is the ability to understand both the information you want to convey, and the way you want to put it across. We can then help you find ways to make your presentation more entertaining and memorable – but still appropriate to the ‘tone of voice’ you want to take.

Exciting themes and inspiring materials all give your training an edge that lifts it above the humdrum – and delivers a better return on your investment.

HOW WE DID IT:
Timberland

The Brief

Timberland are renowned for their hard-wearing, rugged clothing lines. They have an identity with a strong tradition and and a strong product character that has helped them become a major presence on the high street.

The way that this character and identity are reflected their stores is critical to the success of their brand message, with all stores drawing on the same visual styling and product merchandising. The tricky bit is conveying that information and showing staff how to display their products and dress the stores to give a totally consistent look and feel.

Throw in the fact that this information needs to be conveyed to stores not only in the UK - but right across Europe and we were facing a real challenge!

Our Solution

Working with their Visual Merchandising team, we developed a visual style for the pack which was in-keeping with their current house style and would ceate a pack that was accessible and easy to use, but remained authoritative and reflected the importance of the company placed on Visual Merchandising.

The information itself was primarily conveyed with photography of the ranges, backed by illustrations of fittings and clear concise texts. Alongside these, we used carefully constructed montages to reflect and illustrate the character of key ranges, along with recreations of typical point of sale configurations.

Time was a key factor in the project, with all packs having to be created and printed within an eight week period. To complicate that further, these substantial visual merchandising packs were also required in five European languages as well as English within what was already a tight timescale.

Training-support-3

To achieve this, the packs were first designed and produced in English to get all the content exactly right. The packs were then passed across to our translators and translated into French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. We then put this copy into place with the images and other content before proofing the packs with Timberland people from each of the countries involved, and then carefully amended to make sure all the correct terminology was used and none of the detail was lost in translation.

Once the packs were approved, the whole range was printed and distributed throughout Europe, and the packs were able to reach their target audience.
